Best Docking Station for Lenovo Yoga Laptop (2026)

A Lenovo Yoga is not one port map. Slim 7i Aura often has Thunderbolt 4 and a 65W USB-C brick; Yoga Pro 9i with a discrete GPU can still need the 170W rectangular brick. The dock I would put on a Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 Slim 7i or Yoga 9i first is the CalDigit TS4.

Read the icons on the chassis. Intel Yoga 7 2-in-1 is Thunderbolt 4; AMD Yoga 7 is USB-C 10 Gbps. The December 2025 version of this page treated every Yoga as a high-end Thunderbolt machine and sold ThinkPad Universal USB-C 40AY, Plugable UD-6950PDZ DisplayLink, HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G4, and Anker 777 as if they were the Yoga list. Those SKUs are not this list. TS4 is 98W sustained — it does not replace a 170W Pro 9i brick under GPU load. Value here is the Lenovo USB4 Dock 5000, not 40AY.

How We Tested

The chassis had to be right before I scored HDMI count. A Yoga Slim 7i Aura 2026 class board can ship three Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 65W USB-C brick, and no HDMI / USB-A / headphone jack — the dock has to restore those ports, not assume they are already on the deck. A Slim 7i Aura 14-inch gen 10 class board already has HDMI 2.1 and USB-A, so the dock is Ethernet, SD, and extra USB, not a missing-HDMI rescue. Yoga 9i is usually Thunderbolt 4 at about 65–100W USB-C. Yoga Pro 9i with a discrete GPU can still use a 170W rectangular Lenovo brick — a 98W or 100W USB-C dock does not replace that brick under GPU load; iGPU SKUs may stay on 100W USB-C. AMD Yoga 7 2-in-1 is USB-C 10 Gbps, not Thunderbolt 4. ThinkPad X1 Yoga is a different machine. I did not score ThinkPad Universal USB-C 40AY as the current value pick, Plugable UD-6950PDZ DisplayLink as native triple 4K, HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G4 as a Yoga default, Anker 777 / Apex as the HDMI TB4 pick, or TS4 as a 170W Pro 9i brick.

Best Docking Station for Lenovo Yoga Laptop: Detailed Reviews

🏆 Best Overall

CalDigit TS4 Thunderbolt 4 Dock View on Amazon

Best For: Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 Slim 7i and Yoga 9i desks that need ports, 2.5GbE, and SD
Key Feature: 18 ports · 98W PD · 2.5GbE · UHS-II SD · dual DisplayPort 1.4
Rating: 4.6 / 5.0 ★★★★☆
HostTB4 / USB4 Yoga Slim 7i, Yoga 9i. Not AMD Yoga 7 10 Gbps. Not ThinkPad X1 Yoga as this default
Power to laptopUp to 98W sustained. Covers 65W Slim 7i / 9i. Does not replace a 170W Pro 9i dGPU brick
DisplaysNative dual / triple 4K class on Thunderbolt 4. No HDMI on the dock — use DP or a TB4 display. USB-C-only Windows hosts may get one external display
Instead ofNot HP Thunderbolt G4 on a Yoga. Not Anker 777. Not TS4 as every Yoga, including AMD 10 Gbps
Skip ifYou own AMD Yoga 7, you wanted two HDMI with no adapters, or you need 170W under GPU load

TS4 is still the desk I would sit a Thunderbolt 4 Slim 7i or Yoga 9i on: 18 ports, 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, a real UHS-II SD slot, and 98W that covers the 65W USB-C brick most of those boards ship with. The December 2025 version of this page sold that as if every Yoga were that jack. It is not. CalDigit is clear that a plain USB-C Windows host — no Thunderbolt, no USB4 — may only land one external display. AMD Yoga 7 2-in-1 is USB-C 10 Gbps; spend TS4 money there and you bought a Thunderbolt dock for a 10 Gbps port. TS4 also has no HDMI of its own. If the chassis already dropped HDMI — 2026 Slim 7i Aura class — budget a DisplayPort-to-HDMI cable or buy the TBT-UDM below for two HDMI. About $330.

  • 18 ports, 2.5GbE, and SD on one TB4 cable
  • 98W covers 65W Slim 7i / Yoga 9i without a second brick
  • Current TS4, not Anker 777 as the HDMI Thunderbolt pick
  • No HDMI on the dock
  • 98W is not a 170W Pro 9i dGPU brick
  • Wrong spend on AMD Yoga 7 10 Gbps USB-C

Lenovo USB4 Dock 5000 (40BF) View on Amazon

Best For: USB4 / Thunderbolt 4 Yoga that wants HDMI 2.1 plus two DisplayPorts without CalDigit money
Key Feature: USB4 40 Gbps · HDMI 2.1 · 2× DP 1.4 · inbox 65W · optional 100W
Rating: 4.5 / 5.0 ★★★★☆

DisplaysHDMI 2.1 + two DP 1.4. Dual 4K 144 / four 4K 60 is a USB4 host claim — not AMD Yoga 7 10 Gbps
Instead ofNot 40AY sold as 100W ThinkPad management on Yoga. WOL, PXE, and MAC passthrough are ThinkPad features
Skip ifYou wanted 18 ports and 2.5GbE (TS4), one HDMI in a bag (Slim Travel), or 170W under GPU load

Lenovo now names USB4 Dock 5000 as the successor to ThinkPad Universal USB-C 40AY. The old SKU is DisplayLink-class USB-C; 40BF is USB4 40 Gbps with HDMI 2.1 and two DisplayPort 1.4. That is the value pick on this page, not 40AY. The box still ships a 100W adapter, which means 65W to the laptop. 100W to the host is an optional 135W brick, not the inbox pack. December 2025 copy sold 40AY as 100W plus PXE / MAC passthrough on Yoga. Those management tricks are ThinkPad features. A Yoga will charge and drive displays; it will not magically grow ThinkPad Ethernet identity. Do not buy ThinkPad USB4 Smart Dock 5500 as the Yoga default either — that is a fleet / management dock. About $200–250.

  • Named 40AY successor with real USB4 and HDMI 2.1
  • 65W inbox matches most Slim 7i / Yoga 9i bricks
  • Cheaper than TS4 if you do not need 2.5GbE and 18 ports
  • Inbox adapter is 65W to the laptop, not 100W
  • ThinkPad WOL / PXE / MAC passthrough do not apply to Yoga
  • Not a 170W Pro 9i dGPU replacement

Lenovo USB-C Slim Travel Dock (4X11N40213) View on Amazon

Best For: bag days and Slim 7i Aura boards that dropped HDMI and USB-A
Key Feature: HDMI 2.1 4K60 · USB-A + USB-C · SD · up to 65W pass-through
Rating: 4.4 / 5.0 ★★★★☆
SKU4X11N40213 (US) / 4X11N40212 (ROW) — ships without a power adapter
Power to laptop65W pass-through with a 100W USB-C brick. 45W with a 65W brick. No charging below 45W in
DisplaysOne HDMI 2.1 at 4K 60. Not dual native 4K. Not DisplayLink triple 4K
Instead ofNot Plugable UD-6950PDZ sold as native 4K. Not a $20 no-name hub as a Yoga desk
Skip ifYou wanted two HDMI from one Thunderbolt cable. TBT-UDM or TS4 plus adapters

This is the honest bag dock. One HDMI 2.1 at 4K 60, two USB-A, two USB-C, SD, and a power-only USB-C that will pass through up to 65W if you feed it a 100W brick. The US SKU does not include that brick — pack the Yoga 65W adapter or a 100W USB-C pack. On a 2026 Slim 7i Aura that deleted HDMI, USB-A, and the headphone jack, this is the meeting-room rescue, not a desk replacement for TS4. December 2025 copy sold Plugable UD-6950PDZ as “affordable triple 4K.” That dock is DisplayLink. You install a driver, and the extra screens are not native GPU outputs. Fine for spreadsheets. Wrong as a native 4K Yoga pick. About $80–100, plus the brick you already own.

  • Puts HDMI and USB-A back on HDMI-less Slim 7i Aura
  • Honest one-display 4K 60, not DisplayLink triple 4K
  • Fits a sleeve; 108 g class travel slab
  • No adapter in the US box
  • 65W only if you feed 100W — a 65W brick yields 45W
  • One display. Dual 4K wants Thunderbolt 4 money
⭐ Premium Choice

Plugable TBT-UDM Thunderbolt 4 Dock View on Amazon

Best For: HDMI-less Slim 7i Aura that wants two 4K 60 HDMI without CalDigit’s DP-only rear
Key Feature: Dual HDMI 4K60 · 96W certified / 100W PD · driverless TB4 · SD + microSD
Rating: 4.6 / 5.0 ★★★★☆
SKUTBT-UDM — not TBT4-UD5. UD5 is the Yoga 7 2-in-1 overall pick
Power to laptop100W USB-PD, 96W Thunderbolt certified. Generous vs 65W Slim 7i. Still not 170W Pro 9i dGPU
DisplaysTwo HDMI at 4K 60 on a Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 host. Downstream TB4 can take a third display or a fast SSD
Instead ofNot Anker 777 dual-HDMI flake. Not TBT4-UD5 cloned onto this family page. Not DisplayLink UD-6950
Skip ifYou own AMD Yoga 7 10 Gbps, or you wanted 18 ports and 2.5GbE. TS4

TBT-UDM is the HDMI-first Thunderbolt 4 dock on this family page. Two HDMI 4K 60, 96W certified charging, UHS-II SD and microSD, Gigabit Ethernet, and a downstream Thunderbolt 4 port — driverless on Windows Thunderbolt 4. Plugable markets it at Macs; the silicon is Thunderbolt 4 and works on a TB4 Yoga. It is not TBT4-UD5. Buy TBT-UDM when the Slim 7i Aura deleted chassis HDMI and you do not want DisplayPort adapters on a TS4. Skip it on AMD Yoga 7 — 10 Gbps USB-C will not give native dual 4K from a Thunderbolt dock. About $200.

  • Two HDMI 4K 60 without DP adapters
  • 96W certified vs 65W Slim 7i / Yoga 9i
  • Distinct from Yoga 7’s TBT4-UD5 pick
  • Gigabit Ethernet, not TS4’s 2.5GbE
  • Fewer ports than TS4’s 18
  • Thunderbolt money on a 10 Gbps AMD Yoga 7 is the wrong cart

Buying Guide: Yoga dock traps

Read the port icons and the brick shape before you buy an 18-port Thunderbolt dock. Consumer Yoga is Slim 7 / 7i, Yoga 9i, Yoga Pro 7 / 9i, and older C-series 2-in-1s. It is not ThinkPad X1 Yoga, and it is not “every Type-C is Thunderbolt 4.”

Key traps

  • Thunderbolt logo as every Yoga. Slim 7i Aura and Yoga 9i are often Thunderbolt 4. AMD Yoga 7 2-in-1 is USB-C 10 Gbps with DisplayPort. A Thunderbolt dock on that board will not give dual native 4K.
  • TS4 as a 170W Pro 9i brick. Yoga Pro 9i with a discrete GPU can ship a 170W rectangular Lenovo pack. TS4 is 98W. USB4 Dock 5000 is 65W inbox / 100W with an optional 135W adapter. Keep the 170W brick in the second Type-C or the rectangular jack under GPU load. iGPU Pro 9i SKUs may be 100W USB-C — read the SKU, not the series name.
  • ThinkPad Universal USB-C 40AY as the 2026 value pick. Successor is USB4 Dock 5000 (40BF). 40AY inbox power is 65W unless you add the 135W adapter, and PXE / MAC passthrough / WOL are ThinkPad features, not Yoga features.
  • Plugable UD-6950PDZ as native triple 4K. DisplayLink. Extra screens need a driver and are not the Yoga GPU. Fine for office tiles. Wrong as a native 4K pick.
  • HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W G4 on a Yoga. HP-branded Elite / Z silicon. Yoga does not need an HP dock to get Thunderbolt 4 video.
  • Anker 777 / Apex as the HDMI Thunderbolt pick. 90W, dual HDMI 2.0, dual 4K 60 can flake. TBT-UDM is the current HDMI TB4 pick on this page.
  • Slim 7i Aura 2026 as if it already has HDMI. Some 2026 Aura decks drop HDMI, USB-A, and the headphone jack. Gen 10 Slim 7i 14-inch often keeps HDMI 2.1 and USB-A. Buy the dock for the ports you actually lost.
  • ThinkPad USB4 Smart Dock 5500 as a Yoga default. Fleet / management dock. USB4 Dock 5000 is the Yoga-shaped value SKU.
  • X1 Yoga or X1 Carbon copy as consumer Yoga. Those are ThinkPads with different docks and power, not Slim 7i / Yoga 9i.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does every Lenovo Yoga have Thunderbolt 4?

No. Slim 7i Aura and Yoga 9i often do. Intel Yoga 7 2-in-1 does. AMD Yoga 7 2-in-1 is USB-C 10 Gbps with DisplayPort, not Thunderbolt 4. A Thunderbolt dock on that AMD board will not deliver dual native 4K. Read the Thunderbolt icon on the Type-C jack.

Will CalDigit TS4 replace a Yoga Pro 9i 170W brick?

No. TS4 is 98W sustained. USB4 Dock 5000 is 65W with the included adapter and 100W only with an optional 135W pack. Under discrete-GPU load, keep the 170W rectangular Lenovo brick plugged. iGPU Pro 9i SKUs may be 100W USB-C — read the SKU sticker, not the series name.

Is ThinkPad Universal USB-C 40AY still the value pick?

No. Lenovo names USB4 Dock 5000 (40BF) as the successor. 40AY is the older Universal USB-C dock. Inbox 40BF charging is 65W, not a hidden 100W Yoga brick, and PXE / MAC passthrough / WOL are ThinkPad features. A Yoga will not pick those up just because the dock says ThinkPad on the lid.

Why not Plugable UD-6950PDZ for triple 4K?

UD-6950PDZ is DisplayLink. Extra monitors need a driver and are not native GPU outputs. The December 2025 version of this page sold that as affordable triple 4K. For one honest HDMI, use the Slim Travel Dock. For two native HDMI on Thunderbolt 4, use TBT-UDM.

Yoga Slim 7i Aura already has HDMI — do I still need a dock?

Some do, some do not. 2026 Aura class decks can drop HDMI, USB-A, and the headphone jack and lean on three Thunderbolt 4 ports. Slim 7i Aura 14-inch gen 10 often keeps HDMI 2.1, USB-A, and microSD. If the chassis already has HDMI, buy TS4 or USB4 Dock 5000 for Ethernet and extra USB, not for a missing video jack.

Is this the page for ThinkPad X1 Yoga?

No. X1 Yoga is a ThinkPad 2-in-1 with its own dock list. Use the ThinkPad X1 Yoga page.

If the Yoga is Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 Slim 7i or Yoga 9i, buy the CalDigit TS4 for ports and 2.5GbE — not as a 170W Pro 9i brick, and not for AMD Yoga 7 10 Gbps. If you want HDMI 2.1 without CalDigit money, buy USB4 Dock 5000 (40BF), not ThinkPad Universal USB-C 40AY. If the chassis dropped HDMI and USB-A, the Slim Travel Dock is the bag rescue; TBT-UDM is two HDMI on Thunderbolt 4. Keep UD-6950PDZ, HP G4, and Anker 777 off this list.
